Young Dolph Murder Suspect Identified
The Memphis Police Department have issued an arrest warrant for a man who may have been involved in the murder of rapper Young Dolph.
On 17 November, Young Dolph – real name Adolph Thornton, Jr. – was buying cookies at a local bakery, when two men wearing face coverings exited a white Mercedes and shot him. He died aged 36.
On Wednesday, 5 January, the police – along with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation – put out a wanted fugitive alert notice, which includes a photo and the personal details of one of the suspects, Justin Johnson.
A copy of the notice was posted on Twitter, which reads: “Justin Johnson is wanted by the Memphis Police Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for First Degree Murder, Criminal Attempt-First Degree Murder, and Theft of Property $10,000-$60,000 [sic]. Justin Johnson should be considered armed and dangerous.”
Johnson is described as being 1.7 metres tall, weighing 86 kilograms, and has the name “Jaiya” tattooed on his right arm.
The investigation continues as the search for Johnson is underway.
